Job Description

Ares Management is seeking a new Vice President to join our Global Client Solutions (GCS) group in support of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of GCS. This position will cover a workload including both on-going responsibilities to run existing processes as well as leading key workstreams (driving key information flow, ownership of budget tracking (G&A expenditures, compensation), analytics, materials prep, events, conferences, etc.) to the COO. Working with leadership to deliver, monitor and communicate progress towards goals. Identifying and helping solve core problems or opportunities within business processes. Reporting relationship

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer, Global Client Solutions

Primary functions and responsibilities

  • Partner with the COO of Global Client Solutions in initiatives relating to Global Relationship Management, Investor Strategy, Investor Operations, Global Conferences & Events, across all platforms of Ares Management.

  • Develop, execute and manage certain processes on behalf of the COO of GCS and the Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer.

  • Key contributor to the annual compensation cycle, review process, and 5-year budget preparation process, including but not limited to: building out monthly, quarterly and annual reports and tracking working in partnership with Finance & Accounting team

  • Key content contributor and executor of presentations including ARES Board of Director materials, annual Investor Day presentations, internal Leadership Offsite materials, general marketing-related presentations and other ad hoc requests from the COO and GCS Leadership.

  • Proactively facilitate information flow for the broader GCS team, working closely with all sub-groups including: GCS Operations, Global Conferences & Events, Investor Operations, Strategic Partnerships, Quantitative Research, RFP, as well as Regional and Channel Marketing Teams across Americas, Europe, Middle East, and Africa and Asia regions.

  • Key contributor to the annual internship program including overseeing and assisting with programing, rotation assignments and management of interns.

  • Work with Global Client Solutions and Investor Relations / Product Management teams to streamline and centralize processes across different groups including Operations, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, and Investment Groups.

  • Develop and implement new workflows utilizing technology to improve current processes.

  • Oversee the management of subscriptions for GCS and Investor Relations / Product Management teams. Including negotiating contracts, managing account relationships, onboarding, and removing members, tracking, budgeting, renewing licenses, reviewing contracts and payment terms, and acting as the overall point of contact with the account manager.

  • Provide leverage to the GCS Conferences & Events team as needed, including pre-event organization, budget management, onsite execution, attendee data management, senior management liaison, final cost analysis, etc.

  • Organize and prepare for investor meetings, including coordinating meetings, creating agendas, scheduling tours, and ensuring that all materials are prepared in a timely manner.

  • Assist with coordination of projects across GCS, Investor Relations / Product Management, Wealth Management Solutions and Public Investor Relations and Communications.

  • Collaborate with the GCS Operations team to streamline processes of information exchange across departments internally including Operations, Corporate Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, and Investment Teams.

Qualifications

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably with a major in Accounting, Economics, Political Science, Finance, General Business or Management, and outstanding academic achievement.

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 10 years + of related experience in accounting, consulting or financial services

  • Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook

  • Direct report management, preferred. Over time, this role may have direct reports

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$160,000.00 - $210,000.00
