Job Description

The Analyst, West Region Relationship Management based in Los Angeles will support the West Region team and West Insurance team and report to the Head of West Region Relationship Management. The Analyst will cover a workload which includes both on-going responsibilities to run existing processes and project leverage (research, analytics, materials prep, etc.). The Analyst will play a Sales support role in assisting our West Region & West Insurance Relationship Management team with all ongoing sales, service, and communication across current clients and new prospects.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

Reports to: Managing Director, Head of West Region Relationship Management

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with the Head of West Region Relationship Management and other team members responsible for marketing all of Ares’ strategies to prospective and current institutional investors

  • Organize, plan and prepare materials for fundraising roadshows, meetings and calls with portfolio managers and senior leadership. Responsible for preparing briefing memos, agendas, and customized client materials.

  • Serve as an additional point of contact for the West Region’s largest and most strategic institutional investor relationships

  • Gather critical data to quickly respond orally and in writing to client information requests.

  • Write and publish client meeting summary notes posted to firm wide client relationship management systems.

  • Handle projects around the development of our solutions business, including marketing and prospecting efforts, thought leadership, and events.

  • Lead internal demand assessment processes and manage the West Region’s prospective investor pipeline

  • Continuously track and analyze investor mandates and allocation preferences, and conduct quantitative and qualitative market and competitor research to produce investor demand assessments identifying key prospects ahead of fund launches and fundraising roadshows

  • Lead performance reporting and measurement initiatives for the West RM team, via the delivery of weekly activity and fund pipeline reports, fundraising summaries, and roadshow campaign trackers

  • Strategically work across Team West to meet internal deliverable deadlines (demand assessments, pipeline updates, etc.)

  • Assist Head of West RM team in the creation of annual business plans which identify strategic initiatives, fundraising targets, and key performance indicators that inform the success of the West Marketing team

  • Responsible for tracking client contacts and meetings with investors and potential investors, including maintenance of Salesforce system, distribution of conference and meeting notes, and other organizational tasks related to supporting the West Region RM team

  • In addition to focusing on Pensions, Endowments/Foundations & Family Offices on the West Region team, this analyst will also help support the West Insurance team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: College graduate with major in Economics, Finance, General Business or Management preferred, with outstanding academic record

Experience Required:

  • 0-2 years of corporate experience required

  • Financial services experience preferred

  • Series 7 and 63, or ability to obtain

General Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word

  • Requires flexibility, good communication skills, excellent writing skills and interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks. Demonstrated ability to understand, analyze and articulate financial data, and make informed decisions.

  • Work experience in a position requiring a high level of integrity and sensitivity to confidential information

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • General familiarity of a wide range of alternative Investment products.

  • Exceptional judgement and escalation skills

  • Polished, professional presence and ability to represent the firm positively to key constituents

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$85,000-$105,000
