Job Description:
The Compensation Vice President will support the development and administration of compensation programs across the portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market standards. This also involves compiling and analyzing compensation data and providing recommendations to enhance employee engagement and retention while increasing business performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Equity Program Management: Assist in the design, implementation, and administration of equity compensation programs across the portfolio, ensuring alignment with company goals; develop illustrative tools, models, analytics, playbooks, and communication templates; recommend technology solutions for more efficient administration.
- Internal Benchmarking: Maintain an internal database of executive compensation practices across portfolio companies including cash compensation and management equity program designs, equity allocations, and performance metrics.
- External Benchmarking: Conduct executive compensation benchmarking studies with third-party compensation consultants to ensure that portfolio companies offer competitive pay structures, analyzing market trends and data to inform compensation strategies; adjust strategies based on findings to attract and retain top leadership talent.
- Recommendations and Support: Provide various stakeholders with real-time executive compensation benchmarks to support ongoing executive searches and compensation needs; work closely with deal teams during acquisitions to assess compensation structures and needs.
- Training and Education: Offer training and resources to internal stakeholders and portfolio companies on best practices in compensation management.

Critical qualifications and experience for this role will include:
Compensation Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience building and delivering compensation and incentive strategies across privately owned, progressive global companies or portfolios; experience with transitions to public company compensation plans (i.e., IPOs) is preferred.
Functional Expertise: An understanding of pay practice benchmarking, cash incentive design, long-term incentive design, economic sharing ratios, and their link to the investment thesis.
Market and Best Practice Awareness: Understanding of labor market trends and evolution of compensation structures for both leadership and all employees.
Compensation Consultant Partnerships: Experience working directly with third-party compensation consultants (i.e., comp committee advisors) and survey data.
Champion: Passion and appreciation for the impact that properly designed compensation programs can have on organizations, people, and other stakeholders.
In addition to the above, the successful candidate must meet the following additional qualifications:
Self-starter, results driven, attention to details, business acumen, leadership skills, team player, persuasive, analytical problem solver; client focused, value driven, adaptable, strong judgement, objective collaborator and strong communicator; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
A bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business administration or equivalent is required; Advanced degree preferred.

Expected annual base salary range:
$175,000 - $200,000Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
