THE POSITION
The Arts program supports artists and cultural organizations and improves audience experience to strengthen the creative landscape and quality of life in cities around the world. These efforts include facilitating collaborations between artists and local governments to address civic issues, building capacity for small and mid-sized cultural institutions, and increasing and enhancing visitor engagement through the integration of digital technology.
The Program Manager will manage projects and programs under supervision of the Arts Program Lead. Early assignments may include the Bloomberg Arts Internship, a program that provides job readiness for high school students through paid summer internships at cultural organizations. Currently active in 5 U.S. cities, the program is poised for expansion.
The role is based in New York and may require occasional travel.

Annual Salary Range
$120,000—$150,000 USD

Key responsibilities include:
- Manage complex programs under supervision of the Arts Program Lead
- Collaborate with and support the work of colleagues on the Arts team, and across Bloomberg Philanthropies as needed
- Build and manage relationships with external partners, including grantees, city and nonprofit leaders, and consultants
- Use project management and administration skills to:
- Assess grant proposals and reports
- Refine program objectives and develop clear timelines
- Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders
- Coordinate work with a range of consultants
- Support program evaluation and use program data to inform ongoing program refinement
- Develop and execute special events and program convenings for grantees
- Maintain and grow expertise in the cultural sector, including familiarity with grantee programs and field-wide trends and issues, to assist in developing Arts initiatives
- 7+ years of work experience, with demonstrated project management experience
- Knowledge of the non-profit cultural sector in the U.S.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Experience in research, data collection, analytics and interpretation
- Resourceful, motivated, efficient, proactive and ability to multitask
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to effectively develop and maintain strong relationships with all levels of staff, partners, and consultants
- Must be a team player and enjoy working in a collaborative environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
