Our Trading efforts are organized around specific Asset Classes (Equities, Commodities, etc…). The Chief of Staff (CoS) will work directly for the Asset Head(s). The CoS mission is to improve operational excellence by focusing on driving team goals, efficiency, and healthy communication practices for the Asset Class(es). A CoS provides scale to the leadership team, enabling the Asset Head(s) to play to their strengths and increase their impact. Beyond this set of core responsibilities, a CoS will have additional responsibilities depending on their skills and the needs of the Asset Head(s).
What You’ll Do
- Lead the team through the business planning process by setting and driving delivery of goals that drive both short term returns and grow longer term forecasts.
- Be the escalation point and lead for urgent matters and act as a fill in for other team leaders in critical decision making.
- Critical thought partner who helps the leadership team make effective decisions in ambiguous environments.
- Lead team projects and resolve or escalate issues in a timely manner, facilitating prioritization and assignment of work done on the team.
- Establish process and structure within the team to ensure operations flow efficiently and predictably.
- Connect plans, processes, and people that would otherwise remain siloed, and drive cross-team collaboration with other businesses.
- Ensure strategic alignment through effective organizational design, including recruiting and onboarding of new talent.
- Foster a dynamic and inclusive team experience that fuels innovation.
- Craft internal and external communications.
- Be the lead for unique, one-time initiatives within Trading.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 10 years of diverse experience working in a trading environment, with the ability to effectively collaborate across trading, quant, and technology.
- Understanding of trading, software development, or data science.
- History of building relationships and influencing at all levels of the organization.
- The ability to context switch and juggle many workstreams from big picture strategic thinking to tactical execution without dropping balls or losing details.
- Strong galvanizer who gets people moving by rallying, organizing, inspiring, and recruiting so progress does not fizzle.
- Knows how to get people the right info, at the right level, and at the right time to most effectively do their job.
- Positive culture carrier that role models CTC values and places importance on diverse perspectives.
- Proven application of project management principles (e.g. balancing scope/quality/time, managing stakeholders, managing scope change, etc).
- Prior experience and passion for people leadership is preferred.
