What You’ll Do

  • Manage preparation and review of the company’s federal, state, and local income tax returns and estimated payments, including related workpapers.

  • Lead quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations under ASC 740, including deferred taxes and uncertain tax positions.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to assess the tax impact of new business initiatives, products, and state expansions.

  • Assist in tax planning initiatives, including R&D credits, transfer pricing, and state nexus evaluations.

  • Work closely with external advisors and auditors to ensure accurate filings and efficient audit processes.

  • Monitor tax legislation, regulatory changes, and industry trends to ensure DraftKings remains compliant and proactive.

  • Support the development of scalable systems and processes that align with our rapid growth.

  • Partner with accounting and FP&A teams to ensure accurate tax forecasting and financial reporting.

  • Improve and maintain internal controls, tax systems, and process documentation in line with SOX compliance.

What You’ll Bring

  • At least 6 years of relevant tax experience is required; Big 4 and/or in-house experience is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of ASC 740, federal and state corporate tax law, and multi-jurisdictional tax compliance.

  • CPA or advanced degree in Tax, Accounting, or related field strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in tax software (e.g., OneSource) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting quickly in a dynamic environment.

  • Experience working in tech, gaming, or regulated industries is a plus.
