Job Description
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Sourcing acquisitions across a range of real estate sectors and markets (both investment properties and developments)
- Research, analysis and evaluation of real estate investment opportunities
- Development of dynamic financial models to analyse and underwrite investment opportunities (including testing assumptions and sensitivities)
- Conduct due diligence and research market conditions including location assessment, rent comparables, sales comparables and replacement cost analysis
- Providing investment recommendations
- Setup and maintenance of due diligence documentation and data files
- Preparation of Investment Committee papers
- Taking responsibility for investment execution
- Other duties and projects as assigned by the Director
Formal Education:
- Educated to at least degree level, ideally in property, engineering/science, finance, economics or business studies
Work Experience/Knowledge/competencies:
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in real estate industry
- Proven skills in financial modelling and property valuation using Excel and specialist real estate software applications like Argus, Dyna, Cougar or Yardi
- Ability to develop bespoke financial models from scratch would be an advantage
- Previous transactional experience
- Demonstrable project management experience
- Experience in some of the following: valuation, investment analysis, presentation preparation, research, underwriting and co-ordination of due diligence
- Superior quantitative analytical and numerical ability
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent problem-solving ability
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
