Job Description

Invesco is seeking to identify a Research Analyst ("Analyst") who will be part of Invesco’s ETF & Index Investments team based in Downers Grove. This is a unique opportunity to work on a combination of investment products with combined AUM of approximately $850 billion.

The Analyst's primary responsibility will be to conduct equity and asset class research, support multiple investment products, grow assets, and to make a positive investment impact. The team is committed to providing superior long-term investment performance driven by exceptional research and security selection. The position requires an individual with fundamental research capabilities, in addition to a collaborative and team driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform primary analysis of US and foreign equities, closed-end funds, and other asset classes across all market cap ranges.
  • Conduct research based on data gathered from company filings, independent research sources, and third-party providers.
  • Cover multiple industries, maintaining existing holdings and recommending new securities.
  • Assist in the construction and oversight of assigned portfolios through internally and externally created investment models and ensure all securities are selected in accordance with the portfolio investment strategy.
  • Contribute and research innovative ideas through both independent and management directed research projects as part of the portfolio construction and new product development process.
  • Monitor portfolios for corporate actions and performance movement to communicate any required actions that would impact the portfolios.
  • Support investment activities, including performance reporting and attribution, assisting with marketing initiatives, strategic planning, and portfolio commentary.
  • Work with Portfolio Managers to provide content and thought leadership to distribution including performance, competitive analysis, valuation, and overall portfolio positioning and analysis.
  • Engage with colleagues within the ETF & Index Investments business to research areas of market trends, business unit competitive positioning, as well as other ad-hoc analytical assignments including topics such as investment stewardship and corporate action management.
  • Support the broader ETF & Indexed Investments business unit in special project activities and broad initiatives across the business and firm. Projects may be outside the normal scope of the day-to-day functions which allow for further development of skills and a better understanding of the business environment.
  • Candidates should be comfortable working closely with a small team. In addition, the individual responsible for this product will have the ability to work independently and complete deliverables with minimal supervision.

Work Experience / Knowledge:

  • 5+ years industry experience/knowledge in Equity Research or a similar investment capacity
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office, Bloomberg and Factset
  • Strong interest in individual equity research and analysis
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills with an emphasis on strong written skills
  • Open minded, flexible and willing to work collaboratively
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, with a focus on continuous improvement, willingness to take risks, embrace and lead change, determination to find creative solutions to problems. Strong work ethic and drive to succeed.
  • Technical skills, including strong investment acumen, understanding of financial markets and economics, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, particularly) and other software products (e.g. Bloomberg, Morningstar, FactSet).

Formal Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Accounting preferred or equivalent years of direct experience required.

License/Registration/Certification:

  • Series 7 required within 90 days following the completion of training; Series 63 required within 90 days of obtaining Series 7 licensing; employment contingent upon licensing.
  • CFA Charterholder / MBA or progress towards the CFA charter or an MBA is preferred
