TEAM OVERVIEW

KKR Capstone serves as the operational arm of KKR, working with KKR and management teams of portfolio companies to maximize investor returns throughout the deal cycle. As an integral and critical part of KKR’s value creation process, KKR Capstone is involved in every stage of a transaction. The clear emphasis, however, lies on the implementation of profound strategic, organizational, and operational changes at a portfolio company post transaction.

Since its inception in 2000, KKR Capstone has become a key global resource for strengthening operations in KKR’s portfolio companies. KKR Capstone executives work side by side with the respective management teams to help identify and implement operational improvements. This dedicated team of over 80 operational executives works exclusively with KKR’s portfolio companies, delivering management expertise in areas such as operations, pricing, organizational design, strategic sourcing, sales force effectiveness, as well as providing expertise in all of KKR’s industry groups. KKR Capstone executives are based in 12 offices across the Americas, Europe and Asia.

POSITION SUMMARY

KKR Capstone is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Procurement Program Manager to join the team as a Consultant. This individual will play a critical role and have meaningful commercial impact working with KKR’s portfolio companies to increase adoption of our existing programs with key partners. These partners include companies which provide products and services in various categories including technology, transportation, travel, real estate, professional services, and various direct material categories like metals, chemicals, and equipment.

KKR currently offers more than 30 such cross-portfolio programs and our goal is to have our portfolio companies adopt 10-15 of these programs on average.

We are flexible as to where the Consultant is based; however, if converted to a full-time employee position in the future, a pre-requisite will be relocating to work in one of our US offices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities for the role include:

  • Managing and promoting the adoption of cross-portfolio programs with a focus on North American-based portfolio companies (PCs)
    • Leading regular portfolio and pipeline reviews with 10+ partners
      • Reviewing pipeline of all active initiatives at existing and new PCs
      • Determining and managing any implementation obstacles, both driven by partners and PCs
      • Seeking input from other Capstone colleagues as needed
    • Serving as the single point of contact for any existing PC interested in programs
    • Owning the resolution of operational issues that arise with partners
    • Assessing new programs brought forward by existing partners
  • Managing the onboarding of new PCs
    • Working with existing Capstone colleagues to identify specific points of contact at the PC for all applicable programs
    • Setting up introductory calls and a project review cadence
    • Assessing and helping to build business cases internally, providing updates to PMO on adoption and value
    • Seeking input from Capstone colleagues as needed
  • Managing spend cube rollout and deployments
    • Identifying internal contacts in IT/procurement/finance at target PCs
    • Assessing spend cube implementation effort for PCs
    • Building an internal business case for PCs to adopt spend cube
    • Managing the implementation pipeline jointly with the external team supporting the spend cube efforts
  • Managing the opportunity pipeline
    • Getting weekly updates from all program partners
    • Providing reports to Capstone and eventually deal team members
    • Identifying any new PC specific opportunities during PC engagements

QUALIFICATIONS

Successful candidates will have 15+ years of professional experience in procurement and project/program management. They ideally will bring a combination of industry experience and strategy consulting experience from a best-in-class global management consulting firm. Prior experience in client/customer facing roles is preferred and strong stakeholder management skills will be required. The successful individual will need to have an ability to work collaboratively with the C-Suite of portfolio companies and with program partners, taking a hands-on approach.

This is the expected range of daily salary rate for this position. Actual daily salary rate may vary based on several factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role.
