TEAM OVERVIEW

The Asset-Based Finance (ABF) team is part of KKR’s broader Private Credit platform that manages more than $100 billion of assets. The ABF team focuses on non-corporate, private credit investments which are backed by financial or hard assets. Today, the firm’s ABF platform manages more than $67 billion of assets across its flagship fund, Business Development Company (BDC) platform and separately managed accounts (SMAs). There are more than 50 professionals with direct involvement in the ABF effort, working across 4 distinct groups: Residential Real Estate, Consumer & Specialty Finance, Transportation, and Renewable Energy.

POSITION SUMMARY

KKR is seeking an experienced, analytical investment professional at the Associate or Principal level to join its ABF team in New York. In this role, the successful candidate will play a critical part in evaluating investment opportunities and conducting thorough analyses of granular pools of loans and other asset-based collateral. KKR is an active participant in these markets and is looking for someone to contribute to underwriting and executing new investments as well as helping to manage a sizable existing portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to help grow the investment strategy and work collaboratively with a dynamic team of professionals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct in-depth analysis on investments involving various asset-backed securities and collateral types, including asset and liability cash flow modeling
• Collaborate with investment team members to evaluate potential investment opportunities and develop strategic recommendations
• Prepare comprehensive investment memos and reporting materials to communicate findings and support decision-making processes
• Monitor and analyze portfolio performance, identifying trends and potential areas for improvement
• Engage in due diligence processes and present findings to senior management and stakeholders
• Participate in deal negotiation and execution

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5-10 years of relevant experience in asset-backed finance at an investment bank or asset manager, with a preference for candidates with a focus on consumer or residential assets
• Strong cash flow modeling skills to assess the viability and potential returns of investment opportunities
• Excellent critical thinking, quantitative and analytical abilities
• Superior presentation skills to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to diverse audiences
• Strong personal initiative and desire to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment
• Ability to be a highly productive member of lean and fast paced deal teams
• Ability to learn quickly with a strong attention to detail
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or another technical field required
