The Maintenance Manager oversees all aspects of managing a team responsible for maintaining all equipment and facilities utilized in our distribution center located in Henderson, Nevada. You will be part of a management team that is focused on driving operational excellence and efficiency through developing a highly engaged workforce with a focus on safety and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Direct Reports: Shift Supervisors, hourly maintenance technicians (TS)
Key Relationships: Facility Director, Sr. Shift Manager, Shift Managers, Supervisors, Local Finance, IT, HR, Union leadership, key external partners and suppliers
Critical Results
- Drive high levels of employee engagement that result in attaining maximum standards for production, quality, safety and positive employee/labor relations. Creates and sustains a positive work environment in which management team drives results and associates feel valued.
- Manages and drives overall performance of direct reports and overall maintenance/TS Department with strong focus on internal customer service and professionalism with Operational Management team and all employees.
- Manage the Production Equipment involved in product work flow. Working knowledge of industrial controls and PLC control systems. Manage teams that maintain and utilize multi-warehouse systems to direct workflow within the distribution center. Understand how all parts are impacted by decisions to redirect workflow
- Ensure all required standards and compliance practices are in place and that Maintenance/TS employees are trained and educated in all required areas for compliance and safety to include OSHA and Safety Guidelines, Lockout/Tagout Policies; Personal Protective Equipment usage; Hazardous Materials handling; Confined Space Regulations; Cutting/Welding Permit Policies; and the safety of co-workers, and all other applicable regulations.
- Manage multiple external vendor relationships for maintaining of facility, equipment, landscaping, physical security, etc. (HVAC, Forklifts, Fire & Alarm Systems, etc.)
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives utilizing LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies in the areas of cost, service, accuracy and productivity while driving employee engagement.
- Drives accountability at all levels of the Maintenance/Technical Services Department. DC. Partners cross-functionally with all members of management team to ensure product is shipped to customer specifications.
- Other duties as assigned including potential involvement in facility projects and initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience with primary responsibility maintaining large, automated distribution or manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 2 years Supervisory experience with large, multi-shift operations
- Bachelor's degree with emphasis on engineering (Industrial, mechanical, electrical) or other related areas of expertise (10+ years combined college education and work experience may be substituted for a degree)
