ABOUT THE JOB
As Senior Retail Trader, you'll use your analytical skills and commercial knowledge to drive in season trading activities to reflect latest business performance into the trading plan and support traders within its area. You'll identify key business issues, provide analysis on opportunity and risk in the business, and make recommendations to drive revenues in stores.
You will be the key contact point for franchisee and/or O&O stores from a product perspective, for all in-season activities. You'll collaborate closely with Merchandise Planning, Merchandising, Inventory Management, DTC, Franchise and Analytics teams to optimise in season stock management and will be accountable to drive in season commercial decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct quantitative analysis and insights to optimize inventory deployment – monetise new opportunities and identify risks and formulate recommendations
- Drive stock replenishment in cooperation with replenishment analyst
- Provide analysis on in-season profitability to achieve or exceed seasonal performance at Geo / Category level
- Drive promotional and markdown activities; identify products to go on sale and define level of discount
- Develop accurate inventory flow forecasts that support in season business strategies
- Close follow up on customer service activities, inbound/outbound with DC, initial allocation, in SAP and in retail management system (EPOS systems)
- Collaborate with Retail Merchandising to reassess in season performance, leverage key learnings into in season trading actions and reflect into next season assortment buy
- Monitor product availability in European warehouses to identify product opportunities in order to drive local commercial initiatives
- Collaborate with the retail planner to review store grading/max capacities
- Regularly visit retail stores to gather market intelligence and reflect key take outs into in season trading actions
- Collaborate with Analytics team to develop and test improved reporting
- Execute omnichannel analysis, to identify common product trends and highlight business opportunities
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor’s degree in Retail Management, Business management or Finance
- 3+ years of work experience in Retail business (preferably in planning or allocation)
- Strong analytical skills to interpret meaningful themes from quantitative data
- Understanding of Retail revenue drivers
- Ability to articulate key performance indicators, and how they are used in key systems/tools.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Problem-solving skills, both independently and in collaboration with regional partners
- Ability to assess decisions' impact across departments and cross-functional teams
- Proactive in identifying business challenges and developing creative, actionable solutions
- English fluent, spoken and written
