Senior Tax Analyst

Principal Responsibilities

  • Strong direct tax compliance background on Asia tax matters (inbound and outbound).
  • Prepare/review direct tax compliance filings and tax provisions, working with internal stakeholders and external tax advisors to ensure adherence to local tax laws and regulations. This includes providing tax support on audited financials and liaising with internal accounting staff.
  • Prepare/review any tax audits/queries and work with internal stakeholders and external tax advisors to ensure timely submission.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and/or administrative practice and analyze implications to Millennium.
  • Perform tax research for the appropriate tax treatment on investment products.
  • Provide tax advisory support to ensure tax risks and opportunities are well understood, monitor the status of tax ruling submissions.
  • Assist and liaise with external advisors when vetting new jurisdictions for PE risks, trading safe harbor provisions, treaty provisions, transfer pricing implications etc.
  • Assist and liaise with external advisors (where necessary) on FATCA and CRS matters, including registration and compliance.
  • Assist and liaise with advisors and accounting team on transfer pricing, indirect tax matters and CbCR projects.
  • Assist with Tax department initiatives/projects.
  • Interactions with other various internal departments including Accounting, Operations, Trading, Legal, Compliance, HR etc.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant tax experience from either a Big 4 with tax compliance experience in Asian fund management industry (including experience with Section 13U in Singapore) or tax department of an international Hedge Fund or Private Equity Fund.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in Accounting.
  • Cross-border and Tax Treaty experience is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills to think broadly about tax information and think through problems strategically before recommending a pragmatic solution.
  • Strong organizational/project management skills and the ability to efficiently handle multiple assignments.
  • Has excellent attention to detail and consistently high levels of accuracy.
  • Proactive and is a good team player and continuous learner in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good stakeholder management skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and efficient Microsoft Office Application skills.
