Commodities Risk Manager

The mission of the Commodities Risk Manager is to help analyze the Fund’s risk in Commodities strategies. The role involves contributing to new developments and enhancements in our risk infrastructure, interacting with portfolio managers on their risk-taking and communicating efficiently with Management on the business’s top risks.

Responsibilities

Managing day-to-day risk covering Commodities portfolio managers in North America including:

  • Establishing and monitoring trading parameters and performance metrics for Commodities portfolio managers
  • Identifying key risks in the portfolio and escalating to Management where appropriate
  • Controlling the accuracy of risk measures
  • Communicating with portfolio managers on risk taking, risk representation and management of drawdowns
  • Providing performance analysis (P&L Explain, performance statistics) including the development of new models for risk and PNL analysis.

Provide transparency & advisory on top risks to Management

Support the growth of the Commodities business in North America

  • Participate in / conduct interviews of new portfolio managers
  • Prioritize and manage strategic development projects in risk infrastructure
  • Interact with PMs on risk analytics improvements and tools requirements for new business

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 6+ years’ experience in Commodities or Fixed Income markets in a Risk or Trading role
  • Strong commercial acumen & communication skills
  • Knowledge of Commodities products, markets and trading strategies.
  • Emphasis on strategic thinking and prioritization skills. Experience in leading risk architecture projects is a plus.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
