Overview
The Columbus Blue Jackets Manger of Digital Media & Content plays a key strategic leadership role as part of the Blue Jackets Digital Media & Content team, which is responsible for digital and emerging marketing and branding initiatives across the company’s owned channels. With a significant overhaul and investment in the Blue Jackets owned digital infrastructure and its customer experience, the position will play an integral role in managing the day-to-day content strategic critical path in coordination with internal marketing and sales partners. Additionally, the role will be responsible for the daily tracking and optimization recommendations for our content practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Oversee the Blue Jackets digital ecosystem of websites, social media channels, and applications, through a strategic lens, to ensure that all content ladders up to the content and channel strategy
  • Maximize the performance of all consumer-facing digital touchpoints to achieve marketing and sales goals through optimization recommendations
  • Serve as the primary influencer marketing leader at our organization to identify emerging local and national voices, collaborate through content activations, and plan and coordinate visits
  • Collaborate with production and marketing teams to oversee the day-to-day implementation of a data-driven approach to optimize our content and formatting efforts to be in line ever-changing best practices
  • Collaborate with Business intelligence team to analyze website performance, goals, and inbound traffic from all marketing sources (ads, email, social, paid/organic) to better plan and report on success for paid digital media efforts
  • Lead the onboarding and project management of our new mobile app experience with our chosen vendor
  • Work with Business Intelligence team to execute A/B testing across website and development projections to ensure deliverables are launched properly and effectively

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business or related field from four-year college or university required; a minimum of 4 years' experience creating strategic digital content for a professional organization or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous management experience preferred. Experience in Adobe Creative Suite; 2+ years of CMS Content Upload and Management experience; 4+ years of experience in content capture and social media publishing; experience and knowledge of community management and content strategies; proficient in Microsoft Word planning applications, specifically Excel; experience in branded content strategy; experience and knowledge of reporting and management software and technologies; knowledge of changing content trends and on-going competitive analysis; ability to multi-task, work on and maintain multiple projects simultaneously; experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have extensive knowledge of social media platforms and their respective advertising extensions, content management systems, HTML, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics and Microsoft Office software.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
