About the Team:
Revenue at Rent the Runway is a high visibility, fast-paced, strategic team within the Consumer Org responsible for setting the revenue goals and critical business metrics for the company. We are stewards of creating and growing a successful, revenue-generating, scalable business. We are tasked with monitoring performance and unlocking new opportunities to drive growth. We partner closely with cross-functional teams such as Marketing and Product to influence roadmaps and strategies and to ensure the impactful execution of revenue initiatives.
About the Job:
Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, the Director of Site Merchandising will own the customer journey across our three product lines: reserve, subscription, and resale. In addition, this role covers site health, editorial launches, and the conversion rate metric.
The successful candidate is a self-starter with curiosity, strong analytical skills, and an interest or background in e-commerce and direct-to-consumer sales. They get energy from and work successfully in high-impact, fast-paced, and data-conscious environments. They will directly contribute to the company’s success by reimagining and reshaping our site experience across the breadth of areas under site merchandising, including personalization, product discovery, and conversion. In addition, this work will ensure that Rent the Runway’s shopping experience reinforces inventory selection as our competitive advantage and value proposition of an endless closet that can save time getting dressed.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead, develop, and grow a team of site merchandisers and product marketers.
- Develop and own a cohesive digital merchandising experience that establishes the right balance between data and curation to drive engagement, loyalty, and conversion
- Establish metrics of success and monitoring across user experience for personalization, site merchandising, and product discovery
- Identify technical gaps in site experience today and build a roadmap and vision for the ideal experience in partnership with engineering and machine learning
- Ensure the appropriate data is collected and tools are made to support the merchandising and personalization teams to operate efficiently, serve as business stakeholders with the machine learning team
- Build and run tests on navigation, filters, home page placements, grids, and carousels to improve conversion and retention
- Build and forge strong connections with Data/Analytics, Marketing, Fashion, and Product functions within RTR to be a driver and executor of strategies within the Revenue today and broader cross-functional consumer organization
Qualifications:
- Experience leading teams in e-commerce, consumer tech, or retailers with an online revenue business
- Experience with machine learning and personalization algorithms
- Experience with content management systems
- Ability to run independent analyses by accessing self-service data (Tableau, Looker, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The expected base salary for this position is $154,000- $193,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications, or other professional licenses held. This position is also eligible for equity compensation.
