- Actively participating in transaction teams;
- Where appropriate, being the prime day-to-day point of contact for the client relationship;
- Undertaking the day-to-day management of specific transactions;
- Supporting and reporting into the senior members of the deal team;
- Undertaking business development initiatives;
- Co-ordinating, instructing and training junior staff;
- Liaising with and working effectively with other teams and overseas Rothschild & Co offices;
- Leading the preparation of valuation materials, including trading and transaction comparables analysis and building detailed financial models to a Rothschild & Co standard;
- Overseeing and delivering on time and accurate preparation of pitch materials; and
- Reviewing analytical research (including news searches, trading monitors).
The tasks will be undertaken across a wide range of transactions including acquisitions, takeovers, mergers, divestments, capital raisings, and restructurings.
Essential experience and qualifications:
- Strong academic record (both at secondary and tertiary level)
- Excellent numeracy and strong communication skills: written, verbal, and presentation
Desirable experience and qualifications:
- Relevant experience gained with an investment bank, chartered accounting or management consulting firm in corporate finance would be well regarded
- Degree in commerce or finance
- Experience on live transactions
- Experience in relevant sectors
- Post-graduate qualifications (for example, MBA, CFA or CA), although not essential
