• Actively participating in transaction teams;
• Where appropriate, being the prime day-to-day point of contact for the client relationship;
• Undertaking the day-to-day management of specific transactions;
• Supporting and reporting into the senior members of the deal team;
• Undertaking business development initiatives;
• Co-ordinating, instructing and training junior staff;
• Liaising with and working effectively with other teams and overseas Rothschild & Co offices;
• Leading the preparation of valuation materials, including trading and transaction comparables analysis and building detailed financial models to a Rothschild & Co standard;
• Overseeing and delivering on time and accurate preparation of pitch materials; and
• Reviewing analytical research (including news searches, trading monitors).

The tasks will be undertaken across a wide range of transactions including acquisitions, takeovers, mergers, divestments, capital raisings, and restructurings.

Essential experience and qualifications:

• Strong academic record (both at secondary and tertiary level)
• Excellent numeracy and strong communication skills: written, verbal, and presentation

Desirable experience and qualifications:

• Relevant experience gained with an investment bank, chartered accounting or management consulting firm in corporate finance would be well regarded
• Degree in commerce or finance
• Experience on live transactions
• Experience in relevant sectors
• Post-graduate qualifications (for example, MBA, CFA or CA), although not essential
