As an Associate Brand Manager on the Product Team, you will be responsible for strengthening and growing your portfolio across Seasonal Bakery, Lunch, and Snacking. You will oversee day-to-day management of your product categories, inclusive of leading product strategy, portfolio management, and assortment planning.
As an Associate Brand Manager, Product, you lead in 3 key areas:
Business, Customer & Competitive Focus:
- Financial/Business Acumen: Understands the P&L and levers to drive revenue and profit while building business cases for initiatives to contribute to business planning activities
- Customer/Competitive Acumen: Understands key competitors and keeps a pulse on industry trends/innovation while utilizing customer data to identify opportunities for growth
- Portfolio Management: Understands how to lead the sales forecasting process and how they translate to inventory plans; interfaces with cross-functional teams to refine, communicate & implement these plans
Insights to Product Strategy:
- Developing Insights: Understands customer mindset, behaviour, and drivers and how they differ across channels, markets, and competitors; embraces variety of data sources to contribute to learning and insights briefs
- Building Product Strategy: Shapes strategic direction of sub-portfolio and evaluates/recommends tactics within a given strategy
- Product Positioning and Briefing: Creates and presents a product brief with support; builds product concepts in partnership with the Product Development team
Project Leadership:
- Product Development & Commercialization: Leads the innovation/renovation process and cross-functional teams required to bring the platform/program to market from concept to launch
- Project & Resource Management: Leads projects cross-functionally and effectively problem-solves/tests new solutions
- Understanding/Influencing Others: Understands key stakeholders’ priorities and provides feedback to guide project work with clear KPIs to a cross-functional team
We’d love to hear from people with:
- Solid business background and financial acumen, able to develop business cases with strong customer-centric focus backed up by data
- Working knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, assortment planning and inventory management
- Strong project leadership & management skills; organized, high attention to detail, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders
- Naturally builds trust and respect amongst peer group; has experience working in a matrix environment and is a strong team player
- Ability to solve complex problems and take new perspective on existing solutions
- Proven ability to respond to and prioritize changing demands effectively
- Ability to navigate ambiguity
- Progressive experience in product/category or brand management (2+ years).
- Passion and interest for Starbucks/Coffee/QSR industry
- Experience working within a global organization and localizing for the Canadian market preferred
- 2 or more years of experience in a role supporting brand or category/product management
- 1 or more year(s) of experience in a professional role managing a P&L preferred
- 2 or more years of experience in a role leading the development of new or existing products or strategies from conception to implementation preferred
