As a Manager, Strategy, you will be part of a team that grounds every decision we make in truth and insight, builds and operationalizes strategic plans and helps the Canadian business and its partners unlock innovation and growth. This job contributes to Starbucks success by providing strategic and program management leadership for Canada’s Tariffs management & mitigation portfolio, as well as strategic leadership for Canada’s Long-term Supply Chain Strategy, working in close partnership with the Canada and Enterprise Supply Chain teams. In support of these accountabilities, this role helps identify key issues, designs problem solving approaches, works across teams to curate insight, generate hypotheses and create and validate solutions.
As a Manager, Strategy, you will work on high priority, high impact Supply Chain strategies and innovation programs, as well as:
- Strategy & Innovation: Works in partnership across the business on critical innovation priorities. Supports team in problem solving approach design, defining key issues, developing hypotheses, designing required analyses, and driving solutioning and validation efforts.
- Program Management: Understands and supports strategic portfolio management and prioritization and can provide program management support for key strategic initiatives that provide visibility to progress of the highest value work and supports decision making.
- Collaboration: One-team mindset! Excels at scaling impact by effectively working through and with others. Challenges the status quo and inspires partners to achieve business results.
- Communication: Creates structured but dynamic presentations, illustrating key business issues, new insights and recommendations. Shares team recommendations to leadership and can confidently field questions and scale thinking with senior thought partners.
- Partner and Organizational Capability Development: Holds Canadian expertise in Human Centered Design / The Starbucks Way and expands partner capability within and beyond work group.
We’d love to hear from people with:
- Strategic Thinking & Planning: 5-8 years of progressive experience formulating strategy centrally or within functional teams, experience within Supply Chain strongly preferred
- Innovation: Experience in problem identification, solutioning and validation efforts in a cross-functional environment
- Human Centered Design: Experience in Human Centered Design (HCD) and/or The Starbucks Way preferred.
- Analytics and Insights: Capacity to convert data from multiple sources to business driving intelligence
- Communication: Strong presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders across functions, levels and borders
- Planning and Orchestration: Strong project leadership in a cross-functional environment
