ABOUT THIS POSITION
We are looking for an experienced Public Relations (PR Manager) to join our busy EMEA team based in London. As part of a Global PR team we engage across the organization to protect and promote the reputation of T. Rowe Price. We work both directly with journalists and through agency partnerships in some countries. The position will suit a self-starter and someone who enjoys being part of a busy and vibrant team. An understanding of how capital markets work together with strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
More specifically, this role will have two main areas of responsibility alongside managing day-to-day requests that arise for the team.
The primary responsibility will be to focus on creating news hooks to share with the media, using a ‘newsroom’ mindset to source information and turn it into external commentary including articles, comments and press releases to align with the news flow and the firm’s objectives. You will need a credible understanding of economics, politics, and what is driving markets to engage with our investment professionals and business heads.
The secondary responsibility will be to produce a compelling narrative of our press success on an ad hoc basis and twice a year with quoted commentators and internal stakeholders. You will manage the day-to-day relationship with our data and reporting providers to ensure accurate and timely team reporting.
On a day-to-day basis, you will support the flow of requests from our agencies to facilitate their engagement with local journalists as well as provide support for internal meetings, press releases, Q&As and other activities related to the PR team's remit.
Given the importance of ESG and Impact Investing to both the company and our client base, a working understanding and interest in ESG will be an important factor.
The successful candidate will interact with a wide range of senior stakeholders across multiple functions, meaning the ability to manage, and influence is important.
This role reports to the Head of EMEA PR and works alongside a Senior PR Manager. The successful candidate will help build on existing success to increase T. Rowe Price’s visibility across the region.

ROLE SUMMARY
This role reports to the Head of EMEA PR and works alongside a Senior PR Manager. The successful candidate will help build on existing success that helps increase T. Rowe Price’s visibility across the region. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter and team player. To be successful they will have a strong understanding of capital markets, macroeconomics, and public relations. It is important they have excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage at every layer of our organization. Team members must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Being fluent in a second European language would be an advantage. They must have a can-do attitude and genuinely want to contribute to our PR activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help create core narratives for media engagement.
- Develop a full range of press materials including press releases, by-lined articles, media statements, key messages, media Q&As, and briefing documents for our spokespeople.
- Manage the day-to-day narrative of press success and be on point for data and reporting services / contractors.
- Maintain strong relationships with incumbent PR agencies and media (business/financial, trade, and national).
- Build a strong rapport with colleagues within different businesses areas including marketing, legal, and compliance.
- A proactive team player and driven self-starter with a strong work ethic and interest in bringing a unique perspective to the team and company.
- Can multitask and operate with a high-degree of flexibility in a fast-paced environment, as well as to stay calm under pressure and meet tight timelines.
- Work effectively in a matrixed reporting environment – adaptable, reliable with a consistent ‘can do attitude’.
- Understand different working style preferences and earn credibility with a range of internal partners across the organization and provide strategic input on internal and external engagement efforts as necessary.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. A second European language would be an asset.
- Leverage collateral from across the organization for regional deployment
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education plus relevant Investment Management experience with c3-5 years of relevant work experience in Public Relations and/or as a Journalist.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Demonstrable ability to develop and deliver relevant newsworthy content.
- Investment management designation, e.g., IMC and/or equivalent investment knowledge
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Fluency in a language other than English would be positively viewed.
- Competent with Excel and PowerPoint
- Good knowledge of capital markets and public relations techniques
- Ability to build Internal and external stakeholder engagement
