About the Team The Global E-commerce SRE team of US Tech Services works with engineering and product teams to build and run large-scale, globally distributed, observable, fault-tolerant systems. As an SRE, you will deliver on production ownership and be responsible for observability and automation across complex, large-scale service mesh architectures. In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time. - You will be responsible for fostering an engineering culture, driving a team of SREs toward operational excellence by adopting industry best practices. - Own end-to-end reliability and performance of a critical, revenue generating E-commerce platform, as well as supporting release management and data compliance in a cloud native environment - Build and manage a team of software/reliability engineers, including mentoring junior team members and supporting a team on career development. - You will also be required to define OKRs at the org-level, create road maps for large initiatives, and deliver. - Provide technical leadership, drive projects, define charter for the team, and plan short-term & long-term technology roadmaps. - Work with cross-functional, cross-regional engineering, product and supporting teams on delivering key results, formulate the service standards, and continuously optimize the service quality. - Create accountability by defining and managing SLA/SLO/SLI for the team and align them with our partners & customers. - Implement SRE practices around incident management and post-mortems. - You will be responsible for protecting TikTok assets and work closely with security teams to ensure data and services adhere to compliance requirements.

Qualifications

- Previous experience leading a small to mid size team while remaining "hands-on" (see below) - Good understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems internals and networking - Experience writing code in Go, Python, Java or a similar language - 5+ years of experience and expertise in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems (Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, etc), relational databases, caching solutions and web service frameworks Preferred Qualifications - Experience with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis and software design - Experience developing tools and APIs to reduce manual interaction with systems and applications using a variety of coding and scripting standards - Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of drive - Familiarity with running production grade web services at scale for E-Commerce business and understanding cloud native technologies and networking - Experience working with cross regional teams around the globe.
